Automatic connection

Choose a network condition

WireFuse offers Off, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Any network conditions. These are network-type rules, not a list of individual Wi-Fi names or per-app VPN settings.

The system can start the configured VPN when the condition matches and traffic needs it, including while WireFuse is closed.

Enable the rule

1. Disconnect before editing the profile.
2. Open Automatic connection in the profile editor.
3. Select the network condition and save.
4. Connect once to enable the saved rule.

If the app shows Automatic connection ready, it may be waiting for matching network traffic. That status does not mean a handshake has already occurred.

Pause automatic connection

Choosing Disconnect also pauses automatic connection until you connect again. This lets you stop the VPN and edit profiles without the rule immediately starting another connection.

To stop using the rule, set Automatic connection to Off in the editor and save.

Understand network changes

A network that does not match the rule does not trigger a new automatic connection. An existing tunnel may stay active when the network changes. This feature is not a kill switch and does not promise that all traffic is blocked when the VPN is down.

Server availability, network access and system decisions still affect when a tunnel can start and recover.

Free connections still have a time limit

Automatic connection does not bypass the three-minute free connection limit. When the free time ends, the VPN disconnects. Lifetime access removes the connection duration limit; it does not change your server or network requirements.

After an automatic connection, use Connection to check server verification and data activity, just as you would for a connection you started manually.
